About Liwan District Library

荔湾区图书馆创建于1986年，是一座集阅读学习、信息交流、展览讲座和数字化网络服务为一体的国家一级综合性公共图书馆，是荔湾地区重要的文献信息资源中心和文化视窗。

Founded in 1986, Liwan District Library, which sets read learning, information exchanging, exhibition lecture and digital network service as one whole, is a national general public library as well as an important literature information resource center and cultural window in Liwan District.

荔湾区图书馆由周门馆和芳村馆组成，现有藏书60余万册，实行开架式借阅服务。馆内设有成人图书借阅室、少儿图书借阅室、报刊阅览室、电子阅览室等多个服务窗口，全部实行计算机自动化管理。 2010年与广州市图书馆等多个公共图书馆实现了“一证通借通还”服务，2011年9月实现全面免费开放。近年来，荔湾区图书馆落实区政府文化惠民政策，延伸服务领域，依托区内学校、社区、部队和企业等建立了100多家图书漂流驿站，定期进行图书更新和轮换，使区内居民能够就近享受便利的读书借阅服务。

Liwan District Library, which is composed of Zhoumen Branch and Fangcun Branch, contains 600,000 books and offers open-shelf borrowing service. The library has adult book borrowing rooms, children's book borrowing rooms, newspapers reading rooms, electronic reading rooms and other service windows, all of which are computerized. It began to offer the "inter-library borrowing & returning" service with Guangzhou Library and other public libraries in 2010, and began to open to the public free of charge in September 2011. In recent years, Liwan District Library has implemented the district government's culture policy of benefiting people to extend service areas, set up more than 100 books drifting stations in the schools, communities, troops and companies in the district and update/replace books regularly, so that residents can enjoy the convenience of the book borrowing service.

一直以来，荔湾区图书馆以“读者第一，服务至上”为宗旨，在全心全意为读者提供各项优质借阅服务的同时，还充分利用馆藏图书、信息资源举办内容丰富、形式多样的读书宣传活动，收到了良好的社会效益。

Liwan District Library carries out the policy of "the reader first, the service first" all the time. It not only provides the high-quality borrowing services for readers but also makes full use of the collection of books and information resources to hold reading activities, which are in rich content and various forms, and receive great social benefits.
